TargetSize — Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
TargetSize is a browser extension published by DhuRee Labs Inc. (dhureelabs.com). This policy covers the TargetSize extension for Chrome and Edge.
The short version
TargetSize collects nothing. Your files are opened, processed and discarded in your own browser tab. They are never uploaded, and the extension is technically incapable of uploading them.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no usage statistics, no accounts, no advertising and no third-party scripts of any kind.
We operate no server for this product. That is what makes “we cannot see your data” a fact about the software rather than a promise about our conduct.
What is stored on your device
Exactly one entry in chrome.storage.local, under the key
targetsize.prefs:
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
theme | system, light or dark |
viewMode | which comparison view you last used |
marginPct | the safety margin you set for size targets |
Three interface preferences you set yourself. No file contents, no file names, no history, no identifiers. It never leaves your device, and uninstalling the extension removes it.
What happens to your files
A file you open is read into memory in the tab, processed there, and released when you close or reset it. It is not written to disk by the extension, not copied anywhere, and not retained. Downloads are produced in memory and saved by your browser to wherever you tell it.
Your original file is never modified or deleted. Every result is a new file.
Metadata in your photographs
Photographs often carry EXIF metadata, which can include GPS coordinates, the camera or phone model, and the date and time the photo was taken.
TargetSize reads that metadata for two reasons: to show you what your own file contains, and to remove it when you export. It is displayed to you, in your browser, and is never stored, transmitted or seen by us. Re-encoding removes all of it from the exported copy.
Permissions, and what they do not give us
The extension requests one permission:
-
storage— to keep the three interface preferences listed above.
It requests no host permissions. It therefore injects no content scripts and cannot read, alter or observe any web page you visit, including the page you were on when you opened it.
Its content security policy sets connect-src 'none', which instructs the browser to
block every outbound network request from the extension. It cannot contact any server — not a
third party’s, and not ours.
Third-party components
Three open-source libraries are bundled inside the package and loaded from it. None is fetched from the internet, and none contacts any server:
| Component | Version | Licence | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| pdf.js | 4.10.38 | Apache-2.0 | reading and rendering PDFs |
| @cantoo/pdf-lib | 2.8.2 | MIT | writing PDFs, including passwords |
| fflate | 0.8.3 | MIT | making a ZIP when you split a document |
Their licence texts ship with the extension in vendor/licenses/.
Children
TargetSize is a general-purpose file utility. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the updated text is published here before the change ships.

A note on what this software does not decide
This is not a privacy matter, but it belongs beside it. TargetSize changes the size, dimensions and format of a file. It cannot know whether the result will be accepted by any website, government department, exam board, employer, embassy or printer.
Presets named after documents — passport, visa, ID — set pixel dimensions only. A photo that is exactly the right size is not therefore an acceptable passport photo: head position, background, expression, glasses, lighting, how recent the photo is and print quality are all set by the authority you apply to, and those rules change and differ by country. It is your responsibility to check their current official requirements before you submit.
